important information
Read more about how we use your support and our commitments to supporters.
It is helpful to us if any donations or fundraised income is offered as ‘unrestricted’ – this means not for a specific purpose. This is so we use the funds you have generously provided where they are most needed and make sure that we remain a strong and stable organisation. Unrestricted funds also enable us to adapt to changing environments and the needs of young people, invest in sustainable growth and fund valuable core costs which support our service delivery.
However, all donations are hugely welcome. If you would like to make a ‘restricted’ donation to Centre 33 then please discuss your wishes with us so that we can make sure we are able to accommodate them and ensure the money goes to a part of our work that is important to you. Please note we do allocate a 20% contribution towards Centre 33’s costs. This means we can make sure your donation has the most impact by making sure all services are delivered to the highest level.
Each year we identify several key funding priorities which we know will make a difference to Centre 33 and the lives of young people. Currently these include:
• providing mental health and emotional support, including counselling and guided self-help.
• extending support in specialist areas such as housing and employment.
• developing participation work with young people.
• providing transition support to young carers.
Your support can help us fund these important aspects of our services. You can find out more about how we raise and spend our income in our annual accounts submitted to the Charity Commission.
We are very proud of the values and ethos of Centre 33, not only in respect of how we work with young people but also in our relationships with you, our supporters. We make the following commitment to our supporters and funders:
• We will make the best use of all funds donated and given to Centre 33 to make a difference to the lives of young people and to fulfil the mission of the charity.
• We will respect your personal wishes and requests where it is possible for us to do so, such as anonymising your donation.
• If we have agreed to restrict your donation for a specific purpose, then we will only use it for the agreed purpose. If we are unable to fulfil any agreement, we will advise you as soon as possible.
• We will thank every individual, group or organisation that donates to Centre 33 or fundraises for us by either phone, email, or letter. We will also send a yearly update so that our supporters can see how their support has made a difference and we may send thank you cards at times such as Christmas. We will thank and update our monthly donors each year.
• If you do not wish to receive acknowledgement for your donation or support and/or you do not wish to receive our yearly update then please let us know and we will carry out your wishes.
• Through the Centre 33 website we collect one-off donations through a payment provider called Stripe, and monthly donations (Direct Debit) through a payment provider called GoCardless.
• Some of the third-party platforms we use charge a small amount to process donations, we aim to minimise these as much as possible so more of your donation can go to where it is needed most.
• Where we have consent, we will collect Gift Aid wherever possible on donations from individuals, either ourselves or through third-party partners who process donations for us such as JustGiving and Virgin Money Giving, so that we can maximise your donation (Gift Aid can be worth an additional 25% on top of your donation at no extra cost to you).
• We will use your data only for the purposes of processing your donation, and recording fundraising activity, personal preferences, and relationship history. All of our fundraising data is held on a secure database managed by Donorfy.
• We will not add you to the mailing list for the Centre 33 newsletter unless you have given us your consent to do so (consent could come by signing up to the newsletter on our website, when making a donation through our website or a partner platform such as JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving, or in the form of a letter, email or verbal consent).
• You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time.
• We use MailChimp to manage our mailing list and to send out newsletters.
To find out more about how we process your data you can read our Privacy Notice.
