Saturday
drop in
Between 11am and 1pm on Saturdays, you can see a counsellor without
an appointment.
There is no Saturday drop in during August.
One
off session
If you can't make Saturday, call us to see if a one off counselling
session is available during the week.
Ongoing
To arrange ongoing weekly counselling you will first meet with a
counsellor for an initial appointment. At the initial appointment
you can find out about counselling and decide whether you would like to
come for regular counselling.
Talking
You
can talk to your counsellor about anything that worries you. No
matter how big or small your problem seems, if it is important to you it
is important to us. This could include...
- relationships
- difficulties with family, friends, education or work
- personal
worries - low confidence, shyness, loneliness, eating disorders
- abuse
- sexual, emotional, physical, past or present
- depression
- feeling low, sad, anxious or suicidal
- loss
- death, divorce, separation, friendship or relationship break-ups
- sexuality
- sexual feelings, being gay or lesbian, pregnancy or abortion
Counsellors
will...
- Listen
to your worries and your concerns.
- Try
to help you feel more in control.
- Not
judge you.
- Understand
that some things are hard for you to talk about.
- Support
you - but not tell you what to do.
How
does it work?
- You
can ask to see a male or female counsellor.
- You
can talk about why you made an appointment.
- You
will be able to ask questions and find out more about us.
- You
can decide together whether regular counselling is what you want.
- It's
ok to bring a friend to sit in the waiting room while you see a
counsellor.
- You
can talk at your own pace.
